Fly Cairo/Aswan with Optional: Abu Simbel Excursion by Air
Early morning departure from Cairo Airport to Aswan.
________________________________________________________________

Those choosing the Abu Simbel Excursion* by air:
You will stay on the plane and continue on with the flight to Abu Simbel. You will return to Aswan about midday and board your cruise boat. Sightseeing in Aswan in the afternoon.

*If you want to be extra sure to see Abu Simbel, it would be good to arrive in Cairo on Feb 13th, do your Abu Simbel trip on Feb 14th and spend one night in Aswan before the Nile Cruise. The flights to Abu Simbel can be delayed or canceled due to weather in the desert.

NOTE: There is another Pre-Tour offered that includes Abu Simbel Overnight and Free Day in Aswan.
________________________________________________________________

If you are not choosing the Abu Simbel Excursion:
After flying Cairo/Aswan, you will have time to do some sightseeing or shopping on your own this morning in Aswan. Or you can relax at a hotel until it is time for check-in to your Nile Cruise boat (usually about 11am).

After lunch on the cruise boat your sightseeing begins with a trip by motorboat to the beautiful Temple of Isis on the island of Philae.  Built during the Ptolemaic era, this was the last place that the Ancient Egyptian religion was practiced and the last hieroglyphs were written.  It was closed in 550 AD by the Emperor Justinian.  This temple was one of those that were moved to higher ground when the High Dam was built.

Your sightseeing also includes the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk of Hatshepsut.

While on the cruise boat, your sightseeing is with an English-speaking Egyptian guide and other people on the cruise who are English-speaking.

Nile Cruises Options with this Friday/Monday, Aswan/Luxor itinerary:
